What will 2020 Summer Camp look like at ND Sports Camp?

As we plan to re-open and offer summer camp programming, we would like to stress the new normal and the new rules and procedures we will be taking in order to ensure the safety of our participants, their families, and our staff.

  • We have limited our camp registration to ensure our ability to implement our safety and procedures plan and will only be accepting full day/full week registrations at this time.
  • Registration is currently only available for our Ayr location and at this time we do not expect to have ice available in Ayr but will have some synthetic ice for some shooting practice.  If you have already registered and paid for a high performance camp in Ayr, we will be in touch to discuss your options at a later date once we are certain about ice availability.
  • We are working on finalizing details for our Cambridge location, please check our website and Facebook pages regularly for any updates.
  • No individuals other than camp participants and staff will be permitted to enter the building.
  • Parents/Guardians will have to provide us with a half hour window for drop-off and pick-up times so that staff are prepared to meet them during these times outside of the building at their designated drop-off/pick-up entrance.
  • Online health questionnaires as well as an on-site temperature scan, smell test and visual indicator scan must be completed for all children before camp each day.  Staff will be required to obtain regular COVID-19 testing through at a certified testing center.  No staff or participants displaying any signs or symptoms will be permitted to enter the building.
  • If at any point during camp a child exhibits any symptoms of COVID-19, the child will be placed in our designated isolation room with a KN95 mask until picked up by a parent/guardian and local health authorities will be notified.
  • Children will be placed in cohorts based on age and arrival and departure times.  Each cohort will have a maximum of 8 children and 2 counsellors.
  • Each cohort will be provided their own locker room and their own bathroom facility.
  • Each cohort will remain together for the full week of camp.
  • There will be no interaction between cohorts.
  • Directional arrows will be placed on the floor to direct foot traffic flow as groups move between activity areas.
  • Sanitization supplies that meet the Ministry of Health guidelines will be used to perform a deep clean sanitization prior to re-opening, as well as all daily cleaning and sanitization requirements.
  • All washroom facilities will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
  • Children will be seated at their own table, one child per table, for lunch and snacks and tables and chairs will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is being provided to all staff.
  • Campers will be provided with their own washable/reusable face mask to keep and use for the week and may be required to wear it during times when physical distancing is not possible.  These masks will be individually numbered to ensure no sharing of masks.

Please review our
Policies and Procedures document for more detailed information on the steps we will be taking to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and create a safe environment for all.
